“Both MDR and Sonoco-Corrflex continue to perform well in supporting Scotts with water-proof display solutions and logistical support. Great care is being taken in how we manage our relationships with these two suppliers since they compete with each other in the marketplace. In this unique setting, both suppliers have demonstrated a willingness to cooperate with each other in order to serve the common good, which is meeting Scotts overall expectations. A very good example of this cooperation  involved a pad filler supplied by MDR. MDR did not have the quantity of that item that Corrflex needed, so in order to solve the problem, MDR offered a substitute white-on-kraft material of the same dimensions as the existing specification to Corrflex at the same cost as current material.  Once the approval to use the substitute material was reached, MDR shipped the packaging to Corrflex in time to insure no interruptions to Corrflex's production schedule.  This is a great example of the kind creative problem solving and cooperation that we look for in a supplier.
